🌲❄️ A Magical Winter Day in Kindergarten ❄️🌲Today, our Kindergarten transformed into a frosty winter wonderland! Despite the chill in the air, the bright sunshine kept us cozy enough to enjoy every moment. The children arrived with smiles that stayed with them throughout the day.The morning began with pure fascination as the children discovered ice everywhere—frozen in pots, pans, wheelbarrows, and puddles. Their curiosity was endless as they explored and experimented with the icy treasures.During circle time, we dove into a simplified version of The BFG, which inspired some wonderfully messy creativity. The children delighted in making their own “snozzcumbers,” using green cornflour goo to coat courgettes. Sticky hands and giggles filled the air!After a warming snack by the fire, we set off for an adventure on the common. On our nature walk, the children noticed the magic of the changing seasons. Despite it being the coldest day of winter so far, we spotted the first hints of spring—buds appearing on oak, hawthorn, beech, and birch trees.The children also turned their eyes to the sky, spotting airplanes overhead. This sparked a lively discussion about past holidays and flights, with so many stories to share! The walk ended with joyous rolling down small hills, soaking up the beauty of the winter sun.Back at the site, a relaxed lunch gave everyone the energy for an afternoon of free play. The highlight? A collaborative game of Duck Duck Goose. Some minor disagreements arose, but with gentle adult guidance, the children showed incredible teamwork and negotiation skills.Days like today remind us of the joy, discovery, and growth that happens every time we step outside.
