Stay and Play

Details

Stay and Play for 0-6* year olds with attending adult! *siblings welcome

The perfect chance for the youngest members of our community to play on our wonderful Wild Meadow, swinging on rope swings and climbing trees in The Wild Willows, making ‘soup’ with mud and pond dipping in the dyke.

And a lovely place for us grown ups to meet families with similar values and to have a natter with a cup of tea around the fire!

Sessions typically start and end around the fire circle with the ‘Hello Song’ and the ‘Goodbye Song’, with the rest of the time being very child-led. We usually put out some play invitations for the children, cook food together on the fire and enjoy the opportunity to relax in nature.

Instructions

Each person will need to bring:

Suitable clothing: This should be weather and season appropriate. Thick trousers and long sleeves to protect against nettles and insect bites, waterproof jacket and trousers, an extra fleece or jumper, sturdy closed-toe shoes such as trainers or walking boots. A sunhat and suitable sun protection is recommended in summer, and snow boots and thermals in winter. A zipped bag to keep everything tidy is useful, as is a change of clothing in case they get wet (including socks).

You are very welcome to bring food and drink. We have a NO NUTS policy and ask you to take all packaging away with you to re-use or recycle where possible.

We often prepare food on the fire, so bringing your own cup, plate and cutlery is useful.
